Domingo lauds Manila FAME

THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) on Thursday said it took great pride in Manila FAME as the Philippine­s’ premier trade platform for exports and design, enabling hundreds of micro, small and medium enterprise­s (MSMEs) to connect to the global market.

He noted that through this signature event, hundreds of MSMEs in the home, holiday décor, and fashion industries are given an enduring platform to promote their products of outstandin­g quality to the world market.

“Manila FAME is complement­ed by CITEM’s campaign to showcase Philippine products abroad in premier trade fairs,” Domingo said, referring to the Center for Internatio­nal Trade Exposition­s and Missions.

He also said, “The key to our success is the strong partnershi­ps that government has forged with the private sector, of which Manila FAME is an outstandin­g example.”

Domingo adde d that the partnershi­p has built an enabling business environmen­t and continues to increase the competitiv­eness of Philippine-made products.

“Truly, there is much to celebrate and be thankful for. But we cannot afford to let up in our efforts. We need to sustain our momentum to realize our shared vision of inclusive growth,” he said.

Even as he thanked CITEM and all the agencies under the DTI’s Industry Promotion Group for their sterling service, Domingo also urged them to double their efforts to surpass current accomplish­ments.

“We also thank the Manila FAME exhibitors for their perseveran­ce and unending support. Your creativity, passion and dedication are a blessing to our country and a most prized asset,” stressed Domingo.

Also, he thanked the foreign and local buyers. “Please continue to patronize Manila FAME. We commit to always give you the best in both quality and value.”

Domingo was also impressed by the quality of work of the young designers of Red Box, CITEM’s training ground for artists, in terms of philosophy, product design and execution.

“They are our future and our future looks bright,” he said.
