Wilson, Lynch star as Seahawks rout San Francisco

SANTA CLARA, United States: Marshawn Lynch ran for 122 yards and a touchdown while Russell Wilson threw for another touchdown on Thursday (Friday in Manila) as the Seattle Seahawks routed San Francisco 20-3 in an NFL game.

The Seahawks improved to 3-4 while the 49ers, who fell to 2-5, went 1-for-11 on thirddown conversion­s and managed only eight first downs while punting nine times.

Seattle has swept San Francisco by a combined score of 56- 13 in their past three meetings as the team tries to reach the Super Bowl for the third year in a row.

“We really executed in all phases,” Wilson said. “Defense really executed. We were really rolling. We believe (in ourselves). There’s no reason why not to. Now we have a couple days off to regroup and see where we can go.”

Lynch, who carried the ball 27 times, scored a touchdown on a 1-yard run to cap a 12play, 61-yard march that lasted 6:36 to give Seattle a 7-0 lead.

Steven Hauschka kicked a 49-yard field goal in the second quarter and Wilson followed with a 43-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Lockett that gave the Seahawks a 170 half-time lead.

San Francisco’s Phil Dawson kicked a 35-yard field goal with 1: 21 remaining in the third quarter to pull the 49ers within 17-3 entering the fouth quarter.

But Hauschka answered with a 46-yard field goal with 9:23 to play that gave the Seahawks a 20-3 edge and the 49ers, who gained only 142 total yards, never threatened again.

Wilson completed 18- of24 passes for 235 yards but was sacked five times and intercepte­d twice.
