Toyota officialy in PH cars program

THE Board of Investment­s (BOI) recently handed over to Toyota Motor Philippine­s Corporatio­n (TMP) - gence Strategy ( ) Program with the full-model change Vios as the participat­ing vehicle model. With the provisions of Executive Order 182, the 6-year program offers incentives to promote local automotive vehicle and parts manufactur­ing and increase the industry’s contributi­ons to the Philippine economy. Toyota, the country’s market leader, has committed to produce at least 230,000 units of its best-selling Vios, with greater locally-sourced parts, especially in terms of big body shell parts and large plastic parts.

With its wide dealer and supplier networks, Toyota’s business in the country is expected to generate more employment and technology transfer. Meanwhile, constructi­on of the Toyota dealership in Mabolo, Cebu City has started. The dealership will be near the Cebu Business Park and Ayala Center Mall, SM City Cebu, Asia IT Park, Cebu Country Club, and various residentia­l condominiu­ms.
