‘ PUSHER’ KILLS POLICEMAN, WOUNDS ANOTHER IN SAMAR

A POLICE officer was killed and his colleague was wounded in an anti- drug operation on Wednesday in Barangay Loreto, Marabut town in Samar. Inspector Niño Cabanas, Marabut chief of police, identified the slain police officer as Police Officer ( PO) 1 Gary Cabaguing of Samar Provincial Public Safety Company. Wounded was PO1 Nestor Villanueva. The officers were with a team serving a search warrant against Ernesto Gonzales for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and the Firearms and Ammunition Law. Cabanas said Gonzalez was hiding in a foxhole in his house and fired at operatives, hitting Cabaguing on the forehead. Gonzalez escaped and is believed hiding in Marabut town.
