FFABL goes to Dipolog Sept 3

THE Football For A Better Life (FFABL) grassroots program will stage its third leg at the Andres Bonifacio College in Dipolog City, Zamboanga Del Norte from September 3 to 4.

According to Albert Almendrale­jo, head organizer of FFABL, the dedication of the Zamboanga del Norte-Dipolog Football Associatio­n to the grassroots scene is the reason why they selected the city to host the meet.

“We chose to hold the third leg of Football For A Better Life in Dipolog because they have been in action in the football scene for long. The city has been producing outstandin­g athletes such as Jerry Barbaso of the Azkals and Mark Alanquihan of the Little Azkals,” Almendrale­jo told TheManilaT­imes.

He added that besides promoting the developmen­t of the sport in the region, FFABL would also serve as a way of discoverin­g local talents for the national teams.

“We wanted to check out other talents in the grassroots age groups. With the full support of the local government and the local FA, we are confident that football will find a stronghold and source of national team players in Dipolog,” he said.
