Phoenix Semiconductor sets Clark phase 2 expansion
LISTED semiconductor manufacturer Phoenix Semiconductor Philippines Corp. (PSPC) is set to start construction of its Phase 2 semiconductor manufacturing and assembly facilities at the Clark Freeport in Pampanga to meet strong demand.
In a disclosure to the stock exchange on Friday, PSPC said it recently signed a project management agreement with architectural D. A. Silvestre & Associates (DASA) for the pre- construction design of its Phase 2 facilities within its manufacturing complex in Clark.

This follows the company’s Phase 1 expansion, which included improvements in its existing main factory in Clark and which also involved the management and support services of DASA.
Under the deal, DASA will be in charge of the pre-construction activities including architecture and required building and occupancy permits, and assisting in the supervision of Phase 2 construction.
PSPC said it is conducting an auction for the general construction contract and the supply of other related engineering and construction services.
Established in February 2011, PSPC is the local subsidiary of South Korean semiconductor giant STS Semiconductor & Telecommunications Co., Ltd., which mainly supplies memory chips—mostly DRAM chips—for Korean tech giant Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.
The company’s semiconductor products usually go into various applications such as memory chips and devices for computers, laptops and servers, as well as micro SD cards for mobile phones.
