Operation Smile goes to Cavite, Davao

With the help of Watsons Philippines, free operations were given to children and young adults to correct cleft lips and cleft palates in 45-minute procedures.

Operation Smile and Watsons have been partners in this endeavor since 2013 with a shared advocacy of transforming lives.
“We joined Operation Smile for this special project because it is aligned with our promise of helping people to look good and feel great,” Jonathan Wheeler, a surgeon from New Zealand, joins the surgical mission said the wellness chain’s general manager Robert Sun.
“It is a very worthwhile project, especially as our company celebrates its 175th anniversary, because it gives Filipino children a chance to be able to live their lives normally and give a good smile everyday,” he added.

“The impact of this surgery on a child with cleft lip or palate is really tremendous,” Operation Smile Philippines head Bobby Manzano shared. “It’s more than skin deep, because unless we correct that deformity, a child with a as he suffers a lot of psychological, social, and health issues.”
