Jennylyn Mercado, Coco Martin lead Star Awards for TV winners
Best Actress Jennylyn Mercado Ading Fernando Lifetime Achievement Awardee Maricel Soriano THE 30th annual Star Awards for TV was held on Sunday night at Novotel Manila Araneta Center where Jennylyn Mercado and Coco Martin won the top plums from the Philippine Movie Press Club. Mercado took home the Best Actress Award for her role on GMA Network’s , while Martin was named Best Actor for ABSCBN’s . Martin’s year- old prime time series, which is extended indefinitely for now, also won Best Prime Time Drama Series.
Meanwhile the special recognitions of this year’s edition were given to Diamond Star Maricel Soriano (Ading Fernando Lifetime Achievement Award); Luchi Cruz Valdes ( Excellence In Broadcasting); Dulce ( Pilita Corrales Lifetime Achievement Award); Vic del Rosario ( Parangal Levi Celerio); and Kim Chiu and Xian Lim (German Moreno Power Tandem of The Year).
Hosted by Lim, Chiu, Luis Manzano, Jodi Sta. Maria, Alex Gonzaga and Robi Domingo, the awards night also featured stand out performances from Martin Nievera, Jed Madela, Erik Santos, Darren Espanto, Sam Concepcion, Jason Dy, Yassi Presman, and the Hashtags.
