’ PUSHER’ KILLED IN LAGUNA CLASH

BIÑAN CITY, Laguna: A suspected drug pusher was recently killed in an armed encounter in Biñan City. Supt. Serafin Petallo, chief of police, said operatives conducted an anti-llegal drug operation in Sitio Tramo along PNR, Barangay Canlalay against the suspect identified only as “Willy.” Sensing that he was dealing with a police operative, the suspect drew a caliber 45 pistol and shot the poseur buyer who was able to duck and seek cover. A police back-up team then traded shots with the suspect. Police said the suspect was a supplier of shabu in Bingo Tsunami along the national highway and the E- Games outlet in Halang both in Barangay Canlalay this city. Recovered from the slain suspect were seven sachets of shabu and his gun.

19 NABBED, GUNS SEIZED IN MAGUINDANA­O

COTABATO CITY: A joint illegal drugs operation by the Philippine Army’s 6th Infantry Division ( 6th ID) and the Philippine Drug Enforcemen­t Agency ( PDEA) resulted in the arrest of 19 armed drug suspects involved in big- time illegal drug activities in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindana­o. Also confiscate­d were 13 unlicensed firearms. Lt. Colonel Zosimo Oliveros, Army’s 1st Mechanized Infantry Battalion commander, said PDEA- Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao director Edgar Apalla led the operation in the villages of Tapian and Kusiong in Datu Odin Sinsuat on Wednesday. Apalla said arrested during the raid were armed leaders identified only as “Commander Biente” and “Commander Lawin” together with 17 of their armed followers. Confiscate­d were about one-half kilo of shabu packed in small and big sachets, as well as several high-powered firearms, including one M-203 grenade launcher, two M-14 rifles, a Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR), six caliber 45 pistols and ammunition.

DRUGS, FIREARMS RECOVERED IN SAN PEDRO; 3 NABBED

SAN PEDRO CITY, Laguna: Three suspected drug pushers were arrested in separate anti- illegal drug operations in San Pedro City on Wednesday. The city chief of police, Supt. Harold Depositar, identified the first suspect as Zosimo Camerino, a (village watchman) in Barangay Antonio, while the other two—Sherwin Llagas and Reymel delos Santos--were simultaneo­usly nabbed in Sitio Kings Farm, also in Barangay San Antonio. Recovered from Camerino were two sachets of shabu, a 12- gauge shotgun and a hand grenade. Llagas and delos Santos were found with eight sachets of shabu.
