40th MILO Marathon finals roll off in Iloilo
THE 40th national MILO Marathon finals will fire off in Iloilo City on Sunday.
The reigning MILO Marathon King and Queen, two-time MILO Marathon King Rafael Poliquit and three-time MILO Marathon Queen and 2016 Olympian Mary Joy Tabal will defend their crowns in the final race of the season.
The race that expects participation from 20,000 runners, will start at the Iloilo Convention Center.
“We are all very excited to be hosting the most prestigious and longest running footrace in the country. We are honored to be part of the historic culminating event of the National MILO Marathon’s 40th anniversary. We hope all our runners will enjoy the race experience we have prepared for them,” said Iloilo City Mayor Jed Mabilog.
“We are very thankful to all our friends from the local government, our partners, sponsors, volunteers, and everyone else who have contributed greatly to this finale. As we celebrate our 40th anniversary, we hope to continue to energize champions and inspire millions more through our runners who have become our agents of motivation that energized Filipinos to be at their Air Force member Rafael Poliquit emerged as MILO Marathon King two times in a row during the 39th National Milo Marathon National Finals last year.
