UY CROWNED VIOS CUP SUPER SPORTING CLASS CHAMPION
ALLAN UY of Toyota Quezon Avenue was hailed overall champion in the Super Sporting class of the third season of Toyota Vios Cup during the tourney’s awarding ceremonies at the Buddha Bar in Makati City on Thursday.
“Actually, it was a very difficult season because all the drivers became much, much faster this year, much better. The team, everyone, stepped up their game so it was just fortunate that we won the championship,” said Uy.

“Well, it feels good. It feels great to be a champion. We’re looking forward to trying to get the championship early this year because we missed it last year. Well, God really blessed us, giving us this championship this year. But since everyone’s eyeing for the championship next year, we have to do much better to keep that No. 1 so I guess we have to work harder to maintain that championship next year,” Uy added.

Steve Bicknell of Toyota San Fernando topped the Sporting class with 112 points, followed by Gerard Loy with 108.5 points, and Miko Maris 105 points.
In the Promotional class, Kiko Dysico of Toyota Cabanatuan closed the season with 109 points, landing at the top spot, followed by Marc Martinez at second with 98.5 points. Aira third with 98 points.
The lone female winner of the third season, Medrano was contented with what she has achieved.
“I’m very happy despite not winning the championship in the Promotional class because at least I achieved this really did not aim to be on top. This season became my preparation for the next season. All of the races became my practices because I committed errors during those races, which serve as learnings for me,” she added.
Medrano will be competing in the Sporting class next season. “All of the class. It will be fun but I’ll remain competitive because all drivers are experienced in the sporting class,” she added.
