BIKE TOUR KICKS OFF RIZAL MONTH

A BICYCLE tour organized by the the month-long commemoration of the 120th anniversary of the martyrdom of National Hero Jose Rizal.

National Capital Region commander, said the bike tour dubbed also be educational as participants will be briefed with trivia on Rizal upon reaching three historical stops that represent important episodes in the life of the hero.

Ludovico Badoy, executive director of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, said they were looking at institutionalizing the bike tour as a yearly event during the observance of Rizal Month.

The project was an idea of Bobot City commander and was coordinated with the Philippine National Police, the Metro Manila Development Authority, Manila and Quezon cities’ tourism and safety teams, and the National Bicycle Organization.

Former chief justice Reynato Commander, will open the commemoration of Rizal Month at the end of the tour in Rizal Park.
