Financial executives ‘ Talk about PERA’

THE Professional Development Committee of Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines

(Finex) invites professionals and the public to know more about the newest popular investment vehicle called PERA (Personal Equity and and Retirement Account).

The event “Let’s Talk About PERA” will be held at the Pasay B in Makati Shangrila Hotel on February 23, from 2:00 to 5:30 p.m.

Endorsed by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, the investment tool is open to the Overseas Foreign Workers ( OFWs) and Filipinos as an alternative to increase their retirement sources and access to a professionally run investment fund.

Speakers include Atty. Abelardo Cortez (Independent Director of First Metro Investment Corporation) who will delve on the overview of the Philippine pension system, and Annaliza Tan-Cimafranca, BSP director, on PERA’s regulatory framework,

Lawyer Emmanuel Bonoan ,COO of the KPMG in the Philip- pines, speaks on the tax implications of the PERA on the investor and /or employer while a panel discussion will dissect the detailed structure and promise of the PERA by the two Philippine banks first authorized by the BSP to accept PERA investments, namely, the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) and the Banco de Oro (BDO).

BDO will be represented by its EVP and current Finex Treasurer Ador Abrogena while BPI will have Maria Paz Garcia, VP, Head of Compliance (BPI Asset and Trust Management Group).
