- JAIME R. PILAPIL JULMUNIR I. JANNARAL

ACTING on information from an official of the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) operatives seized 10 kilos of high-grade shabu worth P60 million inside an abandoned car along the service road of Roxas Boulevard near the Ospital ng Maynila in Manila on Monday. NBI Director Dante Gierran said the illegal drug inside a blue Toyota Corolla sedan (THH 290) was revealed in a letter sent by a BuCor official dated July 20, saying a car usually delivers shabu along Roxas Boulevard. Using abandoned car is the new scheme in delivering illegal drugs, according to the NBI. Last April 1, NBI operatives discovered P120-million worth of shabu inside a car parked along R-10 Road near the Manila North Harbor in Tondo. Two men approached the parked car, took the key hidden in the muffler and was about to drive it when operatives accosted them and found 19.831 kilos of shabu along with several firearms and ammunition to be transported to Mindanao.
