SAN Sebastian College-Recoletos (SSC-R) takes its turn to host the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) On Tour of Season 93 when it tackles Jose Rizal University ( JRU) today at the San Sebastian College Gym in Manila.

close defeat while the Heavy Bombers (2-2) try to pull a string of wins as they collide at 4 p.m.

San Sebastian battled the leading Lyceum of the Philippines University toe-to-toe only to fall short in the end as it absorbed a 73-78 loss last Friday.

Despite having the home court advantage, Stags head coach Egay Macaraya does not want to take the Bombers lightly.

“Jose Rizal (University) is a veteran team known for their defense and we have to be ready against them,” said Macaraya.

Main man Michael Calisaan is expected game-high 28 points on top of 12 rebounds in the previous outing.

JRU, on the other hand, fended off Colegio de San Juan de Letran in the endgame for a hard-earned 65-62 decision also last Friday.

Heavy Bombers head coach Vergel Meneses knows that they must outwork San Sebastian, which he compared with Lyceum, for them to win.

“We need to play 101 percent. We have to work harder than them,” said Meneses.

Stocky guard Teytey Teodoro and emerging reliable Jed Mendoza, who came up with a game-best 17 points aside from the crucial defensive stop in the previous win, are tabbed to carry the Bombers.

Meanwhile, the Staglets and the Light Bombers--their junior counterparts--clash in the curtain-raiser at 2 p.m.
