UMak launches school of Law with full scholarship program
THE University of Makati (UMak) is launching its School of Law this August, which will offer a Juris Doctor program to aspiring lawyers nationwide.
In its initial venture in legal education, the city government of Makati has approved the establishment of the UMak School of Law through City Ordinance 2017-044. It has committed to fully support the legal education program of the university through the approval of its Full Scholarship Program for the Pioneer Batch of the law school.
The UMak School of Law Full Scholar - port for tuition and miscellaneous fees, the provision of a P20,000 book stipend annually and a P10,000 monthly allowance for the entire academic year.
The few remaining slots for full scholarship are open to all students who have obtained Latin honors in their undergraduate studies, and those who pass the UMak LSAT and the Legal Education Board-mandated Philippine Law School Admission Test (PHILSAT).

The School of Law program was developed with the guidance of its Founding Dean, former Vice President Jejomar Binay, who said, “The UMak School of Law aims to develop future Filipino lawyers that can excel in both the theory and practice of the law, capable of meeting the changing demands of the legal profession, anchored on the principles of love of country, justice and the rule of law.”
