FAMI named ‘Best Managed Fund of the Year’

FIRST Metro Asset Management, Inc. ( FAMI) received the Best Managed Fund of the Year award for its Save & Learn Fixed Income Fund ( SALFIF) from the Chartered Financial Analyst Society of the Philippine­s, Inc. ( CFA Society Philippine­s). A total of 81 funds from 16 houses and trust institutio­ns joined the search. Out of all the long- term fixed income funds in the country, Salfif took the top spot under the held- to- maturity ( HTM) valuation category.

Salff is recognized with the high- - turn measured by the Sortino Ratio, a return measure that considers the amount of harmful volatility caused by investing in low-quality fixed income securities. FAMI achieved this for SALFIF through the selec securities under a “buy-and-hold” strategy. Fund managers are rewarded a higher Sortino Ratio if they securities which have less chances of negative returns during highly volatile conditions. The awarding of the 2017 Search for the Best Managed Funds of the Year was held during the 3rd Philippine Junior Finance and Investment Summit.
