Senate approves DepEd budget
PASIG CITY, October 13, 2017 – The Senate Committee on Finance approved on Wednesday, budget of the Department of Education ( DepEd) for Fiscal - cated to ensuring that education will continue in an inclusive and nurturing environment for learners, teachers, and personnel.
The swift motion to approve - budget utilization and allocation for its program and projects.
Some of the big ticket items under the 2018 DepEd budget are: provision of maintenance government assistance and subsi - resource development for teaching - Flexible Learning Option such as Alternative Learning System (ALS), Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM), and Indigenous People Education Program, among others.
Education Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones and the whole Education Department commit to fully utilize the said budget in providing and ensuring quality, accessible, relevant, and liberating basic education for all Filipino learners.
In the same plenary deliberation, DepEd Sponsor Senator Paolo Benigno Aquino IV, in close coordination with Secretary Briones and other DepEd Executive Committee members, addressed the concerns raised by Senator Risa Hontiveros on the random drug testing program of DepEd.
