Mayor Bautista to negotiate new police station

THE Quezon City Council has authorized Mayor Herbert Bautista to negotiate the acquisitio­n of properties in Barangay Talipapa, where the Talipapa Police Station ( PS- 3) will be relocated.

In City Resolution 7136- 2017 introduced by QC Councilors Franz Pumaren and Ranulfo Ludovica, the City Council authorized Mayor Bautista to negotiate the acquisitio­n, through negotiated sale, either the parcel of land identified as Lot 8- B- 1- C or Lot 526- A- 2 that can be developed as the new police station’s location.

Jimmy Ong Hay is the registered owner of the1,000- square meter lot known as Lot 8- B1- C, along Quirino Highway while the 2,833- square meter lot identified as Lot 526- A- 2 in Mindanao Avenue, corner Sauyo Road is owned by Domingo Cesario.

It is in accordance with the Local Government Code of 1991 which states that “the City Mayor shall represent the City in all its business transactio­ns and sign in its behalf all bonds, contracts, and obligation­s, such other documents upon authority of the Sanggunian­gPanlungso­d or pursuant to law or ordinance.”

Meanwhile, the Quezon City Council has passed a resolution authorizin­g the city government to issue a Special Use Permit to Phoenix Petroleum for the constructi­on and operation of a gasoline station in Barangay Novaliches Proper.

City Resolution 7232- 2017, introduced by Councilor Victor Ferrer Jr., declared that Phoenix Petroleum has complied with the necessary requiremen­ts for the issuance of a Special Use Permit pursuant to the Quezon City Comprehens­ive Zoning Ordinance.

The gasoline station will specifical­ly be located at 208 General Luis Street in Barangay Novaliches Proper.

“The constructi­on and operation of a gas station will provide employment and promote economic developmen­t in the city,” the resolution read.
