-

TOYOTA Motor Philippines Corporation ( TMP) recently hosted the delegates of the 3rd Asean Foundation Model Asean Meeting ( Afmam) 2017 at the TMP headquarters in Santa Rosa City, Laguna.

TMP presented its environmental programs to its guests who included representatives from the Asean Foundation, League of Corporate Foundation, and 19 youth delegates from Vietnam, Cambodia, Brunei, Indonesia and the Philippines. Their visit was part of Afmam’s six- day program themed “Anticipating Environmental Displacement of People in Asean due to Global Climate Change.”

TMP showed how its efforts are aligned with the global Toyota Environmental Challenge ( TEC) 2050, which aims to achieve zero environmental impact and to establish a society in harmony with nature.

During the eco- tour, TMP showed its initiatives in reducing CO2 emissions and in optimizing water usage in business operations. The delegates visited TMP’s waste water treatment plant, which explained how effluent regulatory requirements are met, and the Toyota Manufacturing Eco Center ( TMEC), where a Green Home model makes use of recyclable materials and eco-friendly features.

To commemorate the visit of the delegates, a ceremonial treeplanting activity was also held in the 10- hectare Toyota Forest.
