QC pi­lots pro­fes­sional drug abuse pre­ven­tion

THE Que­zon City gov­ern­ment un­der the ad­min­is­tra­tion of Mayor Her­bert unit in the coun­try to in­clude pro­fes­sional train­ing for per­son­nel as­signed to the re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion of chil­dren and ado­les­cent sub­stance abusers.

The Que­zon City Anti Drug Abuse Ad­vi­sory Coun­cil (QCADAAC) has part­nered with the In­ter­na­tional So­ci­ety of Sub­stance Use Pre­ven­tion and Treat­ment Pro­fes­sion­als (ISSUP) Philip­pines to train an ini­tial 200 per­son­nel.

“Our prob­lem was how we will ad­dress the needs of the 16,000 drug sur­ren­derees. Que­zon City, with the help of ISSUP Philip­pines Chair­man Ed­die Castillo, help at least days. These 200 were the ones that we de­ployed to our dif­fer­ent barangays to help in our com­mu­nity-based re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion pro­gram,” Vice Mayor Joy Bel­monte (in photo) who chairs the QCADAAC, said.
