QC pilots professional drug abuse prevention
THE Quezon City government under the administration of Mayor Herbert unit in the country to include professional training for personnel assigned to the rehabilitation of children and adolescent substance abusers.
The Quezon City Anti Drug Abuse Advisory Council (QCADAAC) has partnered with the International Society of Substance Use Prevention and Treatment Professionals (ISSUP) Philippines to train an initial 200 personnel.
“Our problem was how we will address the needs of the 16,000 drug surrenderees. Quezon City, with the help of ISSUP Philippines Chairman Eddie Castillo, help at least days. These 200 were the ones that we deployed to our different barangays to help in our community-based rehabilitation program,” Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte (in photo) who chairs the QCADAAC, said.
