Younghusbands banner Azkals in CTFA tourney
PHIL and James Younghuband will banner the men’s national football team that will participate in the four-nation Chinese Taipei Football Association (CTFA) International Tournament 2017 to be held from December 1 to 5 in Taipei, Taiwan.
The Philippines will play against host Chinese Taipei, Laos, and Timor Leste, with all the matches set to be played at the Municipal Stadium in the Taiwanese capital.
The Younghusband brothers, both top players of Davao Aguilas FC in the Philippines Football League, will be joined by teammates Simone Rota and Angel Guirado, and fellow veterans Ruben Doctora and Fitch Arboleda of Stallion Laguna FC, Adam Reed of Kaya FC-Makati and Mike Ott of the Thai club Angthong United FC.
Included in the 23- man roster are young professional booters Junell Bautista, Jaime and Justin Cheng, Reymart Cubon, Dylan De Bruycker, James Hall and Nicholas O’Donnell of Davao Aguilas, and Yannick Tuason, Nathanael Alquiros and Reynald Villareal of Stallion Laguna FC.
Completing the lineup are collegiate stalwarts Jarvey Gayoso of Ateneo De Manila University, Ray Joyel of Far Eastern University, and Christian Lapas, Kintaro Miyagi and Julian Clariño of University of the Philippines.
Marlon Maro will serve as the head coach and will be assisted by Randolfo Clariño, Marlon Piñero, Ronoel Garfin and Ramoncito Carreon together with Jefferson Cheng as the team manager.
The PH XI will collide with Laos first on December 1 before taking on Chinese Taipei on December 3 and TimorLeste on December 5.
