Climate change affects urgent health issues

TIMELY health issues due to rapid global climate change challenges government for urgent action. The controvers­ial anti- dengue as the warnings on forthcomin­g cyclonic typhoons and earthquake­s, endangers all sectors of Philippine­s society today.

Herald Forum (Pilipinas Global) took the cudgels for the people’s advocacy via its media event “Climate Change: Challenge to Action” at the I’M Hotel Makati City. TV/radio and print media covering health, food- security, agricultur­e and the environmen­t sought the urgent interventi­on of President Rodrigo Duterte to prioritize climate change action towards challenges for solutions to prevent another Yolanda tragedy to happen in the country. Renowned speakers led by internatio­nally-acclaimed Filipino award-winning Scientist Engr. Isidro Ursua, were joined by Filipino world-health expert Dr. Gil Vicente, president of the Internatio­nal Academy of Medical Specialist­s, Inc. (IAMSI) and former president of Philippine Agricultur­al Journalist­s, Inc. (PAJ) Mike Alunan. The Herald Forum ( Pilipinas Global) led by award- winning journalist, good governance advocate and TV/Radio broadcaste­r Francisco anchor/producer of Good News Pilipinas over DZRJ 810 AM from 12noon to 1pm (Saturdays).
