Quezon City launches standardized drop boxes
QUEZON City will now have a way of getting citizens’ suggestions and complaints. Mayor Herbert Bautista (2nd from left) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) and the Department of Interior Local Government (DILG) on the distribution of the Mamamayang Ayaw sa Anomalya, Mamamayang Ayaw sa Iligal na Droga (MASA MASID) suggestions and complaints drop boxes to the city’s 142 barangays.
Mayor Bautista led the distribution of the MASA MASID drop boxes to the punong barangays of Quezon City on Monday, December 19, 2017 at QC Hall.
The acquisition of the drop boxes is funded by the city government through the Quezon City Anti-Drug Abuse Advisory Council (QCADAAC) to address the need to have standardized drop boxes within the city that will cater to the suggestions for better city governance and management of the local government as well as to receive any information on illegal drug ped- dling and corruption.
The drop boxes will be placed in strategic locations outside the barangay halls. The boxes will be collected and opened every 1st and 3rd Friday of the month by the persons-in-charge, including the barangay kagawad, PNP focal person (key-keeper), and one faithbased organization (FBO) member of the Masa Masid Team ( keykeeper). Suggestions and complaints will be sealed in a brown envelope with the signature of the persons-in-charge. The reports will then be submitted to the MASA MASID Quezon City Technical Working Group to undergo assessment and evaluation.
