Quezon City launches standardiz­ed drop boxes

QUEZON City will now have a way of getting citizens’ suggestion­s and complaints. Mayor Herbert Bautista (2nd from left) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) and the Department of Interior Local Government (DILG) on the distributi­on of the Mamamayang Ayaw sa Anomalya, Mamamayang Ayaw sa Iligal na Droga (MASA MASID) suggestion­s and complaints drop boxes to the city’s 142 barangays.

Mayor Bautista led the distributi­on of the MASA MASID drop boxes to the punong barangays of Quezon City on Monday, December 19, 2017 at QC Hall.

The acquisitio­n of the drop boxes is funded by the city government through the Quezon City Anti-Drug Abuse Advisory Council (QCADAAC) to address the need to have standardiz­ed drop boxes within the city that will cater to the suggestion­s for better city governance and management of the local government as well as to receive any informatio­n on illegal drug ped- dling and corruption.

The drop boxes will be placed in strategic locations outside the barangay halls. The boxes will be collected and opened every 1st and 3rd Friday of the month by the persons-in-charge, including the barangay kagawad, PNP focal person (key-keeper), and one faithbased organizati­on (FBO) member of the Masa Masid Team ( keykeeper). Suggestion­s and complaints will be sealed in a brown envelope with the signature of the persons-in-charge. The reports will then be submitted to the MASA MASID Quezon City Technical Working Group to undergo assessment and evaluation.
