Gordon leads distribution of relief goods in Albay
PHILIPPINE Red Cross (PRC) Chairman Richard Gordon recently led the distribution of relief goods and hot meals to the affected evacuees in Albay, as he visited the students of Guinobatan West Central School in the Municipality of Guinobatan, where temporary classrooms are built.
“Since most of the classes were disrupted as classrooms served as evacuation centers for the displaced families, the PRC ensures that the students in Albay will not be deprived of education. We provided them learning spaces, which are safe and conducive for learning,” Gordon said.
The PRC chairman was joined by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Head of Delegation Chris Staines during the distribution of hot meals and basic household items such as sleeping kits, hygiene kits, jerry can containers, and tarpaulins.
