3 PUSHERS BUSTED WITH P1M SHABU

THREE drug suspects, including a pregnant woman, were arrested with P1.1 million shabu in Barangay Polpogan, Consolacio­n town, northern Cebu on Thursday. Police said Cris Ortega, 35, of Barangay Cambiyuhan, Danao City; his live- in partner Jenny Jaime, 32, and Geran Ligan, 29, of Barangay San Roque, Talisay City were arrested at about 10 p. m. after the sale transactio­n was made outside their rented house in Polpogan. Jaime is reportedly three months pregnant. Police seized five sachets of shabu and P200 pesos marked money from the suspects. Ortega confessed hiding a huge amount of shabu in a culvert about 10 meters away from his rented house where the police found about 100 grams placed inside a blue pouch estimated at P1.1 million. He said he intended to distribute the shabu in Danao City and its neighborin­g areas. Chief Insp. Gerard Ace Pelare, Consolacio­n Police officer- in- charge, said Ortega, Jaime and Ligan are newly- identified drug pushers.

1 KILLED, 2 NABBED IN POLICE BUY- BUST

A DRUG suspect was killed while two others were arrested in separate buy- busts conducted by Bulacan Police on Thursday and Friday in Marilao town and City of San Jose Del Monte ( SJDM). Senior Supt. Romeo Caramat Jr., Bulacan Police director, identified the slain suspect in Marilao as Eng Benitez, alias “Saging” of Barangay Tabang, Plaridel town. Supt. Marlon Santos, Chief of Bulacan Provincial Intelligen­ce Unit ( PIB) said that the suspect was neutralize­d in a shoot- out during a buy- bust operation conducted by joint elements of Drug Enforcemen­t Unit ( DEU) of PIB and Marilao MPS in Brgy. Barangay Patubig, Marilao, Bulacan on Friday about 1: 00 A. M. Benitez reportedly drew his firearm from his shoulder bag and fired twice at undercover police officers when he suspected that it was a setup after handing over the shabu to a poseur- buyer triggering a firefight. His cohort escaped on board a black Yamaha Mio Soul without license plate. Benitez allegedly supplies drugs in the towns of Plaridel and Marilao in Bulacan. Meanwhile, Supt. Fitz Macariola, SJDM police chief, said Francisco Alcones, 37, and Rogelio Borja, 19, single, both of San Jose Heights Barangay Muzon were arrested in a buy- bust on Thursday night.

TARLAC VILLAGE CHAIRMAN ARRESTED WITH DRUGS, GUN

CAMP MACABULOS, Tarlac City: The chairman of Barangay San Agustin in Concepcion, Tarlac was arrested with shabu and firearm during a raid on his house on Friday. Senior Supt. Ritchie Medardo Posadas, Tarlac police provincial director, said Agustin Cruz, 41, is a high- value target by the police for illegal drug activities. Joint elements of the provincial investigat­ion branch and drug enforcemen­t unit, in coordinati­on with Concepcion police station recovered from Cruz five sachets of shabu, six sachets of marijuana, a caliber 45 pistol with seven cartridges, another four cartridges for caliber 45 and 9mm.
