Mobile insurers to partner with gadget financing firm
MOBILE insurance provider AmTrust Mobile Solutions said that it will sign a deal with gadget financing company Home Credit to further expand the business globally.
“We are already signing the strategic deal with Home Credit. We will cooperate in all countries where Home Credit is present,” AMS Regional Sales and Business Development Director
Adam Bernasek said in an interview with The ManilaTimes.
AMS offers device protection, repair work, trade-in services and technological support to clients who avail its insurance once they purchase a new gadget. It also offers product replacement in case of theft.
According to Bernasek, AMS has different risk profile depending on the country where it operates. “We have different risk profile. In Singapore, theft is not that high risk as compared with Jakarta,” he said.
“We are defining strategy to every country, standardized insurance product across the region.” according to the regional sales director.
Currently, AMS has over 150,000 clients in the Philippines, and the company will continue to seek parternships as it aims to have half a million clients in the country by year- end.
“We have over 150,000 customers every month already. This December, we would like to have half a million clients floating,” he said.
“People are buying smartphones with the big screen and we see cellular phones getting more expensive and more fragile. I believe there is a huge space to protect our customers,” according to Bernasek.
Bernasek said that AMS facilitates both business-tobusiness and business-tocustomer strategies.
“We cooperate with manufacturers. We cooperate with dealers and sell to clients. We have both ways.”
