PH Superliga volleyball goes to Baguio

IT’S going to be a fun- filled and action- packed weekend as Philippine Superliga ( PSL) stars roll to Baguio City to display their talent in an exhibition match and other off- court activities.

Bannered by league ambassador Aby Marano of F2 Logistics, the PSL All- Star teams will hold a volleyball clinic before clashing in a friendly battle at 5 pm on Sunday at the University of Baguio ( UB) gym.

Prior to that, fans will get a chance to mingle with them in a meet- and- greet session at 3 pm on Saturday at the events place of SM City Baguio.

They will also visit the Philippine Military Academy ( PMA)

with the members of its women’s volleyball team before heading back to Manila on Monday.

PSL chairman Philip Ella Juico said holding an out-of-town event is their way of thanking the fans, especially those from the provinces.

“This our way of expressing our gratitude for their unwavering support, not only to the league, but to Philippine volleyball in general,” said Juico, who also thanked Baguio City Mayor Mauricio Domogan, City Administra­tor Carlos Canilao and sports coordinato­rs Gauds Gonzales and Paul Rillorta.

Aside from Marano, also joining the tour are Kim Fajardo and Michelle Morente of F2 Logistics; Maika Ortiz and Carmina Aganon of Foton; Rica Rivera and Pam Lastimosa of Sta. Lucia Realty; Chloe Cortez, Mika Reyes, Frances Molina, Aiza Maizo- Pontillas and Carmela Tunay of Petron; Jheck Dionela of Cignal; Aerieal Patnongon and Denden Lazaro of Cocolife; Christine Agno and Mary Jean Balse- Pabayo of Smart; Tots Carlos and Marianne Buitre of new team United Auctioneer­sUniversit­y of the Philippine­s; and Mikaela Lopez and Carol Cerveza of Generika- Ayala.

Tickets are available at the UB Athletics Department and SM City Baguio.
