Manila favorite opens in Pampanga
KA TUNYING’S Junior, a kiosk version of the fullservice restaurant of Ka Tunying’s Cafe, is now flying at the Clark International Airport, Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga, giving cabalens— the natives of Pampanga—a taste of the much talked-about Filipino comfort food in the metro.
The seventh branch, fourth of its Junior concept, of news anchor Anthony Taberna Jr.’s chain of restaurants, aims to share the Filipino food goodness to those who are flying out to their province, as it is located at the departure area of the said airport.
For the restaurant’s grand opening, the Taberna couple personally invited Bong Alvaro, president of Midori Clark Hotel and Casino and BB International Leisure and Resort Development Corporation and Rommel Sytin, president of Foton Motor Philippines, Inc.
The ceremonial “bread cutting” was also graced by Tina Marasigan, former UAAP Courtside Reporter and beauty queen turned ABS- CBN newscasters; actress Melissa Ricks and Taberna’s other half in DZMM’s multi-awarded radio show, Dos Por Dos, DZMM Newscaster Gerry Baja.
According to the Taberna couple, these are some of the people who inspire them to do more in the field of their endeavor.
Ka Tunying’s Junior Clark branch is now serving their best seller pinoy silog meals such as Cabanatuan Longsilog, Chicken Tosilog, Adobo Silog and Corned Beef Silog.
Part of their menu is their merienda hit— Tsamporado with Tuyo and their famed Arroz Ala Tunying. Airport guests will also be excited with the variety of its original palamig and smoothies while those who are on the go can grab some of their signature breads and pastries.
