The event started in the new Petron Manila Bay along Roxas Blvd, and was a very convenient place to start. There were 13 vehicles that started (down from a registered 25 vehicles) and more than 40 participan­ts in those cars.

a.m., with the succeeding cars following in one-minute intervals, almost all arrived in the Aguinaldo Shrine in Kawit, Cavite through Cavitex except one. Team Keon Sondra lost their way after exiting through Las Pinas and failed to read the correct road book directions.

Governor Boying Remulla met the group at the Aguinaldo shrine and we had great banter and photo opportunit­ies with him. He was leaving for an and it was great for him to visit us even with his hectic schedule. Museum, which had a grand display of historical pictures sourced by the owner and philanthro­pist Geronimo Berenguer De Los Reyes Jr., in General Trias, Cavite, we had a week to calculate all the results before the awarding. The total demerits were composed of the time demerits, the trivia demerits winners of the Overall, Novice, Family, Masters and Team divisions.

Coming out as the Overall winner was the Reyes Team composed of patriarch Ray and his siblings Denise, Paula and Justin with only 266 demerits. They also won the Family division and led the Mini Samson, Alexis Angeles and Charles Mondragon in 2nd overall with 502.

Third overall and 1st Masters was Janferds Balois, Boy Eusebio and Jerald Valdez with 1037. They also helped Go Flat Out Team to get 2nd in the Team division. They were partnered with James Tagle and Nikki Ramos who placed 7th overall.

The KIA Team came in 3rd through the efforts of 6th overall placers Raul and Benjie Tuason with Kyra Baricaua and Bong Africa, Jon Francisco and Jahan Kalam in 11th place. Raul Tuason also got the 2nd in Masters Division ahead of Joel Lago, Rico Gino and Aaron Ravana who ended in 3rd Masters.

The surprise of the rally was the Novice division winners of the Bayud Resort Team Siargao of Remi Barbers, Carlos and Igo Loinaz. They placed a high 4th place overall and beat 2nd Novice entry of the second Tuason Family team of Jackie, Andrew and Joao. 3rd Novices were Team Ribbon Arc of Elysse Menorca, Quattro Adriano, Gabriel Senires and Kim Jigger Chong.

It was a great Mabuhay Rally and the by most of the racers. We will now have a Car Club Wars TSD Rally soon and hope will attract more newbies into the sport. Congratula­tions and Godspeed to all!
