group of Filipino fashion designers — both seasoned and promising — established the Designers Circle Philippines (DCP) with the common goal of bringing forth creativity and beauty through various collective efforts.
Formally organized in June 2017, the new association put up a search for models that will showcase the creations of the designers in multi- media platforms besides ramp fashion.
candidates, 20 male and 20 female, sashayed the ramp on July 20 at the Windford Hotel and Casino in Sta. Cruz, Manila and competed for the title as Catwalk Philippines grand winners.
At the end of the night, the panel of judges—composed of luminaries from the fashion, media and entertainment industries—chose Pampanga resident John Paul Smith and Laguna native Eloisa Jauod as the grand winners.
Both senior high school students and 17-year-olds with prior exposure in ramp modeling, Smith and Jauod also come from mixed ancestry — he a Filipino-American and she a Filipino-Indian.
“I was told about the screening and I took the chance as being in the last batch. I’m glad I joined because winning the
