WHAT do beauties Charo Santos, Bea Alonzo, Liza Soberano, Maja Salvador have in common? They have all sat in the makeup chair of top celebrity make-up artist RB Chanco and thus featured in the latter’s new book RBeautified.

Kris Aquino, Chanco’s esteemed client for seven year now, wrote the foreword for this how to manuscript, citing the author’s ability to use her skills in enhancing a person’s features.

“My makeup with RB has always looked like me—just a better, more polished, softer, and prettier version of me,” shared the erstwhile Queen of All of Media

A cosmetics pro for two decades now, Chanco made headlines when he did Miss France 2016’s Iris Mittenaere makeup. Of course, as everyone knows, the beauty was crowned Miss Universe here in Manila.

“My life is the epitome of what makeup can do to your life. . . . For every imperfection or flaw that you see, there is a process to beautify it,” wrote the author.

Published by ABS-CBN Publishing, the book’s title takes after the hashtag #RBeautified, which Chanco uses when showcasing makeup looks on social media. Apparently, the hashtag was coined by beauty queen turned actress, Charlene Gonzales-Muhlach.

“Makeup can be your weapon to aid you in your own battles, the same way that makeup has been my inspiration, motivation, support, and savior,” Chanco noted, encouraging readers to extend their personality, redefine character, and find individuality through cosmetics.

Besides the signature looks of her biggest clients, Chanco’s revelations in the makeup manual include the 10-step skincare routine, five beauty habits that will change lives, contouring and highlighting commandments, and easy guide on making eyebrows on fleek.

Moreover, “RBeautified” further features some of RB’s famous clientele on six separate covers with Erich Gonzales, Julia Barretto, Loisa Andalio, Ronnie Alonte, Vice Ganda and the makeup artist herself. Alonte’s inclusion by the way, Chanco’s cousin, signifies that the book is not just about cosmetics for women. “Makeup is not effeminate, even if that’s the opinion the society dictates,” Chanco explained. “Women aren’t the only ones who need to look fab.” the makeup artist ended.
