THE private sector should employ dependents of military and police personnel killed in action and in operations, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said on Saturday.

DILG Secretary Eduardo Año said these dependents should have a new source of income after the death of their loved ones in the military and police.

“It’s the least that we can do in honor of our fallen heroes who cause,” he added in a statement.

Under Memorandum Circular 2018-116, Año urged local chief executives to recommend dependents for employment in private

There are programs that can help them such as the Comprehensive So said private employers could ensure that these dependents would have a stable source of income.

The CSBP aims to assist survivors of military and police personnel killed in action and in operations.

“We hope to forge a long-term partnership with the private sector in making certain that the families left by our [military and police personnel], our heroes, will live a life far from poverty by presenting them with job opportunities,” Año said.

Three-hundred-forty-three dependents are employed at present, have been processed or were given livelihood opportunities under the CSBP.

Two-hundred-twenty-seven of them were hired in various government agencies while others are training with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.
