NEGROS PNP SEIZES P700K SHABU, NABS 11 IN 3 DAYS

BACOLOD CITY: Anti-narcotics operatives arrested 11 persons and seized more than P700,000 worth of shabu in separate police operations in five cities in Negros Occidental in the last three days, records from Negros Occidental Police Office showed. In Silay City, high-value targets Cydee Bajande, 37, and his wife Jonah yielded 12 sachets of shabu estimated at P520,000. The couple was arrested at Carmela Valley Subdivisio­n in Barangay Guinhalara­n at about 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, according to Supt. Noel Polines, Silay City Police Drug Enforcemen­t Unit head. The operatives also seized P6,900 cash and one Glock .40-caliber pistol with 26 live ammunition from the couple during the first operation for the day. In neighborin­g Talisay City, Christian Junio, 20, was arrested in Barangay Zone 2 at about 5:15 p.m. who sold P500 worth of shabu to a poseur-buyer. He was found with four more sachets of shabu valued at P15,000 and P1,100 cash in his possession. Talisay City police said Junio, a street-level newly-identified drug suspect, has links to known drug personalit­y Jose “Badjao” Aliguin Jr., main supplier of drugs in Bacolod City. In Cadiz City, Jeffany Nene, 28, and Jeric Cornel, 41, were arrested during a search at about 10:50 p.m. Chief Insp. Rocky Desear, of the Drug Enforcemen­t Unit, said seized from the suspects was P200,000 worth of shabu. Nene, No.1 on the station’s drugwatch list, yielded 17 big sachets of shabu while Cornel had 25 elongated sachets. In La Carlota City, four were arrested in a buy-bust at Zone 5, Barangay 2 at about 11:45 a.m. on Thursday, identified as Joas Desamparad­o, 32, a drug surrendere­r; John Rey Gareza, 22; John Dalumpines, 22; and Jeff Lawrence Ortega, 22, call center agent. They yielded two sachets of shabu, three tooters, two lighters, and three P100 bills buy-bust money. Similarly, in San Carlos City, pedicab driver Eduardo Galan, 21, was arrested in a buy-bust in Barangay 4 at 11:50 p.m. on the same day. He was found with three sachets of shabu, a .38-caliber pistol with two live ammunition­s and the P500 buy-bust money. Another suspect Rey Requieron, 38, was nabbed in San Juan Tunga, Barangay 5 at 12:55 a.m. on Friday who yielded a gram of shabu worth P12,000 he sold at P800 to a poseur-buyer.
