ICCP Group supports govt initiatives during Environment Month
THE Investment and Capital Corporation of the Philippines (ICCP) Group of Companies, a business conglomerate, joined government agencies in celebration of Philippine Environment Month that promoted eco-industrial development as part of its commitment to protecting and preserving the environment
The Environment Month Event was spearheaded by the ICCP Group’s industrial park development arm, Science Park of the Philippines Inc., ( SPPI) in collaboration with the Department of Energy, the Department of Environment and Natural ResourcesManagement Bureau IV-Calabarzon, and the participation of the operating industrial parks in Calabarzon.
Among the highlights of the event included a lecture on natural gas as alternative environmentfriendly fossil fuel, a demo on Waste- To- Energy Technology, and the annual Eco-Industrial Exchange (EcoIndex) Network, Inc. Resource Recovery Event.
SPPI is a member of EcoIndex, a non- profit, non- government, industry-based organization that serves as management support network for industrial parks in the Philippines to take active part in minimizing the adverse impacts of industrial and domestic wastes to the environment through ecoindustrial approaches.
All of ICCP Group’s industrial parks in Calabarzon promote industrial ecology among its locators, like resource recovery, by- product exchange, proper disposal of waste such as generators, among others.
