Ringstar is ready to roar once again in Singapore

SINGAPORE: Ringstar Boxing is currently gearing up for ‘Roar of Singapore V - The Kings of Lion City’, set to take place on September 29, 2018, at the prestigiou­s Marina Bay Sands. In preparatio­n, Ringstar had an IBO world title fight official press launch here in Singapore, even flying in some of the fighters, from as far as Africa, who will also headline the muchantici­pated fight night.

Camarines Sur-native Michael “Gloves on Fire” Dasmarinas, current IBO Bantamweig­ht world champion with a record of 26-2, is also set to face undefeated Manyo “Black Flash” Plange, who holds a record of 17-0. Dasmarinas is said to be currently deep in training and focused on getting his next win.

In attendance at the presser was 38year old Paulus “The Rock” Ambunda of Namibia, former WBO world champion and former 2x IBO world champion, who traded barbs with 30-year old current IBO Interconti­nental Featherwei­ght champion Muhamad “The Chosen Wan” Ridhwan, who has a winning streak of 11-0.

Malaysia’s WBC Asia Continenta­l Light Heavyweigh­t champion Mirage Khan, and IBO Oceania Welterweig­ht champion Keng Fai, and French unde also at the press launch to talk about their crucial bouts. All the top press here in Singapore, were also there to cover the press conference, with the features coming out in almost full-page spreads in the newspapers the next day.

Muhamad Ridhwan, also known as “The Chosen Wan”, is Singapore’s top boxer, currently undefeated and a fan favorite. He is also known for his excit presser, he called Paulus “The Rock” Ambunda an old man, due for retirement, and his very own “stepping stone”.

Both Ridhwan and Ambunda will be squaring off inside the ring, and at stake for both boxers will be the IBO World Super Bantamweig­ht belt.

When asked if he was ready for his upcoming world title fight, Ridhwan emphasized, “I was born ready, I was meant to do this, I am meant to win the world title. Ambunda is the rock, but he is going rock bottom on September 29.”

But the bespectacl­ed Ambunda, who looks more like a top executive than a boxer, was quick to respond that he has stopped and destroyed undefeated fighters before, and Ridhwan may in fact be the next one, even announcing, “Ridhwan’s fans will break down in tears come fight night.”

Ridhwan was also asked about his Ridhwan replied, “To be given the oppor thank Ringstar and my manager Scott Farrell for making this happen. This is a very rare opportunit­y so I am grabbing it with both hands, and am training to be at my best so as not to let this opportunit­y slip away. I am very motivated, and I will rise to the occasion and achieve the unthinkabl­e.”

Also noteworthy was the incident that Observatio­n Deck of Marina Bay Sands post-presser. Malaysian boxer Keng Fai, and French boxer Abdelelah Karroum who will an interestin­g face-off.
