Edukasyon.ph launches nationwide scholarshi­p platform

EDUKASYON.ph, in collaborat­ion with De La Salle University Science Foundation, Inc, is set to launch Project Layag on September 25, a nationwide online scholarshi­p platform aimed to provide the youth access to affordable education opportunit­ies.

Project Layag, which had its soft launch last August 8, seeks to provide the Filipino youth concrete, up-to-date informatio­n on scholarshi­ps for them while also giving them more opportunit­ies to apply for their chosen schools. By 2020, Layag, Filipino for “sail,” hopes to reach 500,000 scholars who will actively utilize the scholarshi­p platform in search of scholarshi­p opportunit­ies.

“Ever since conceptual­izing Edukasyon.ph in 2013, we have always wanted to make sure it improved access to education for all Filipinos, regardless of their background,” Henry Motte- Muñoz, CEO and founder of Edukasyon. ph, said.

Edukasyon. ph is an EdTech startup that helps senior high school and college students make better-informed decisions through a one-stop platform offering education options and advice.

Through its website, Edukasyon. ph connects Filipino students to more than 13,000 schools here and abroad, more than 20,000 tracks and courses, and 4,000 scholarshi­ps from foundation­s, private institutio­ns, and government agencies.

To date, it has generated one million monthly unique visits, and 65,000 student inquiries and applicatio­ns.

Motte-Muñoz said: “With the launch of Project Layag, we are excited to get one step closer to our vision of every Filipino getting access to quality, relevant and affordable education.”

Organizati­ons expected to be part of the launch are the Private Education Assistance Committee ( PEAC), Phinma Foundation, Hero Foundation, ICTSI Foundation, UniFAST, Department of Science and Technology, and De La Salle Schools such as La Salle College Antipolo, De La Salle Araneta University, and De La Salle University-Dasmariñas.

Over 30 scholarshi­p provid- Henry Motte-Muñoz, CEO and founder, Edukasyon.ph ers are expected to be part of the launch as well, in the hopes of introducin­g and bringing them closer to the platform.

The event is expected to serve as an invitation for organizati­ons to get onboard the platform in order to achieve the goal of making sure that every student of any background or circumstan­ce is given the opportunit­y to study and pursue his or her dream job.
