GUIA GOMEZ TO QUIT POLITICS
SAN Juan City Mayor Guia Gomez on Thursday said she would no longer seek any position when her term ends next year, and endorsed her granddaughter, Vice Mayor Janella Estrada, as her successor.
“I would no longer run for any elective position next year. I would spend more time with my grandchildren,” Gomez, partner of former president and now Manila Mayor Joseph Ejercito Estrada and mother of Sen. Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito, told reporters at the sidelines
of Pinaglabanan.
“I am endorsing Janella to be the next mayor of San Juan, and that is sure,” Gomez added. Janella is the daughter of former senator Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada.

“Though she’s still young, Janella has the heart and intelligence, and on top of that she’s God-fearing,” Gomez said.
With additional housing programs for the less privilege, job generation and skills training, Gomez said that sustainable programs shall eventually free the majority of the San Juaneños from poverty.
Gomez, who served the city for almost nine years, thanked those who supported and worked alongside her.
The city commemorated the heroic deed of the Katipuneros in 1896.
With the theme “ San Juan City is preparing for more responsive programs for its constituency.
Also present during the celebration were Senators Nancy Binay and Ejercito, who reiterated the call for freedom from societal problems and the need for modern day heroes.
