SM Prime to open SM Legazpi on Friday
SM Prime Holdings Inc. is set to open its newest mall, the SM City Legazpi in Albay, on Friday.
The property giant told the Philippine Stock Exchange on Tuesday that the new mall is a threestory building located along Imelda Roces Ave., formerly known as Tahao Road. It will be the fourth mall opened this year following SM Center Imus in Cavite, SM City Urdaneta Central in Pangasinan, and SM City Telabastagan in Pampanga.
The new development will offer 88,000 square meters (sqm) of gross floor area, making it SM’s largest mall in the Bicol region.
SM Prime’s wholly owned brands such as The SM Store, SM Supermarket, SM Appliance Center, Ace Hardware, Watsons, Surplus, Miniso, and Banco de Oro, SM Cyberzone, and SM Cinemas will be present as well as Our Home, Sports Central, Bata Shoes, The Body Shop, and Uniqlo.
“Together with SM City Naga in Camarines Sur, this new lifestyle destination in Bicolandia will elevate the malling experience of both the locals and tourists with offerings from top local and global brands,” SM Prime President Jeffrey Lim said.
The new mall is already 85-percent lease awarded to retail locators, the company said.
Before the end of the year, SM Prime is scheduled to open SM Center Ormoc in Leyte.
“SM Prime remains committed to its role as a catalyst for economic growth, delivering innovative and sustainable lifestyle cities, thereby enriching the quality of life of millions of people,” the firm said.
Shares of SM Prime closed flat at P36.50 each.
