SPECIAL product innovations from the bustling East Asian state of Taiwan were given the spotlight at a seminar conducted during the System Integration Philippines (SIP) Expo staged last August 16.

Seven industry visionaries spoke of technological innovations boasted by brands they carry and how such breakthroughs can be integrated into systems and infrastructures in line with proper functioning of homes and even entire cities.

The mini-discussions sparked the attendees’ interest in bringing the highlighted products and systems into the Philippine market.

Alfred Wang, Director of Taipei

in the Philippines, expressed that his home country is highly interested in the Philippines’ aggressive infrastructure growth. He said, “Within the next two years, I would like to see more cooperative efforts between the two countries towards a more advanced society and technologically competitive economy.”

The products presented at SIP were recognized by Taiwan Excellence Awards, a body established by the country’s Ministry of Economic Affairs. These innovations are of high value and help shape the creative image for Taiwanese businesses. Thus, these are deserving of government’s push in the international market.

Marketing head of ASUS Anvey Factora discussed his company’s products in a presentation simply billed “Sustainable Product System”. He said, “The ASUS product lines are not only driven by the need for innovation, but also guided by company virtues. “

For his turn, senior manager of Acer Cloud Technology (Taiwan) Inc, Jimmy Wang, hinted at how his company developed media devices that collect, assess, and analyze information transmittable to a control panel where it could Over 60 participants convened at meeting rooms 2 and 3 of the SMX Convention Center during a Taiwan Excellence seminar

But perhaps the most interesting

Marketing Manager of Everest Display Inc., presented Boxlight mimio, a hardware and software combo consisting of a receptive projector and a software allowing educators to easily use the media needed to present to students. This groundbreaking tech has the potential to be used in remote areas in the Philippines where teaching materials are scarce.

Tang noted, “If you change classrooms, you change the world,

you change the way students consumed information in a classroom forever.”

Now on its 16th year, the SIP Expo continues to be the country’s leading trade show focused on new and emerging technologies. It is a legitimate launching pad for companies introducing the latest offerings to the market.

Taiwan, ranked as the 22ndlargest economy in the world, has its high-tech industry to thank for with regards to its relatively good global status.
