Police nab 8 drug suspects in Taguig

EIGHT drug suspects were arrested in separate anti- drug operations in a span of six hours, in Taguig City over the weekend.

Taguig Police Sub- Inspector Glen Amsiwen said the first three suspects, Adelon Ludenio, Randy Altar and Jimmy Balasangay, were arrested during an operation in Barangay South Daang Hari at 8: 30 p. m on Saturday.

Rommel Ipil was arrested in the same barangay at 11: 45 pm. Police seized four sachets of shabu from the suspect.

Three sachets containing 0.4 grams of shabu were seized from Sonny Bernardo and Samuel Sahol at 10: 15 p. m. in Barangay Bagumbayan.

The final arrest was made at 1 a. m. on Sunday in Barangay Upper Bicutan. Police confiscate­d two sachets of shabu, weighing 0.3 grams, from Joel Fernandez and Ricardo Gruyal.

Taguig City Police said the improved exchange of intelligen­ce among precincts and other informants bolstered the anti- drug trade measures in the city.

All suspects were turned over to the Special Drug Enforcemen­t Unit facility of Taguig City police station.

They will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehens­ive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 before the Taguig City Prosecutor­s Office.

The confiscate­d sachets were submitted to the Southern Police District crime lab for examinatio­n.
