FOLLOWING its sales growth in the Asia-Pacific region, global cybersecurity solutions provider Trend Micro Inc. said it would expand its market to the corporate and consumer segments in the Philippines.

In a statement, Trend Micro Philippines Country Manager Ian Felipe said he was bullish on the performance of the company, because of the warm response of the

rise in Trend Micro’s sales force in

“This is an indicator on how we plan to continuously expand and develop the local market and help organizations in the cybersecurity front,” Felipe said.

The company attributed the 26.7-percent increase in its net

Aside from good market prospects, Felipe said Trend Micro continued to invest in talent.

“We have boosted our recruitment efforts, and this has grown more than 40 percent over the

Felipe also highlighted reports of data breaches, despite the introduction of policies and regulations, such as the Data Privacy Act.

Citing the company’s 2018 Midyear Security Roundup, Felipe said the company saw a 16-percent increase in reported US-based data breaches.

“This may indicate that even if enterprises are aware of the risks of data breaches, they may still be unable to enforce proper data protection mechanisms in a comprehensive manner,” he added.

Meanwhile, Felipe said Trend Micro is organizing the second annual Security TRENDs conference to provide an avenue for enterprises and organizations to address these issues together.

Security TRENDs will feature keynote and track sessions on the challenges organizations are now facing in the area of cybersecurity, such as the increasingly complex data breaches, new government policies, and the widening cybersecurity skills gap.

The conference will also feature some of Trend Micro solutions and technologies that are part of the company’s Connected Threat Defense strategy.

Trend Micro Philippines functions as the global technical support and research and development headquarters of its Japanbased parent company.
