SPECIAL Assistant to the President (SAP) Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go today lauded the Printing Industries Association of the Philippines (PIAP) for exploring innovations in the business.

“I commend the association for gathering the industry’s stakeholders from all over the country in order to discuss the latest trends and developments within the sector,” he said in his speech at Print Philippines 2018, the annual premier print technology event in the country.

Go, who is a guest of honor at the event, later joined the ribbon- cutting ceremony after delivering his message. He also went around the exhibit hall to view machinery from the various printing companies that were on display.

“As long as printing companies are stable and booming in the Philippines, employment in the country is also increasing,” Go said, adding that President [Rodrigo] Duterte “recognizes the vital role that printing companies and the rest of the business sector play in the development of our country.” Go is hopeful that similar events would lead to more investments for the country.

“I hope these events will pave the way for joint ventures,” he said. In his hometown of Davao, Go’s family has been part of the printing industry for several decades, with his grandfather, Roman Tesoro, being one of its pioneers.
