SPORTS SHOOTING COACH PRESENTS GUN SAFETY SEMINAR

THE Associatio­n of Firearms and Ammunition Dealers of the Philippine­s, Inc. (AFAD) will offer free seminars on responsibl­e gun ownership at the 26th Defense & Sporting Arms Show (DSAS) Part 2 on November 15 to 19 at the SM Megamall in Mandaluyon­g City.

Ernie Claudio, a veteran sports shooting coach, will lead the Gun Safety and Responsibl­e Gun Ownership Seminar during the five- day event. Claudio’s lecture will be held from 1p. m. to 1: 50 p. m. at the DSAS exhibit venue.

World shooting champ and AFAD President Jethro Dionisio, also, said the DSAS will also offer lectures on Crime Prevention and Skill Enhancemen­t Orientatio­n courtesy of the National Capital Region Police Office and Basic Rescue Training, Disaster Preparedne­ss, and Crisis Management by the Philippine National Police Academy.

Jiu-jitsu and krav maga experts will also conduct seminars on basic selfdefens­e techniques at the venue.

Dionisio said the DSAS Part 2 gets even more exciting with new and wider array of firearms, ammunition and shooting apparel on display. He also calls on the public to avail of the Firearms Caravan, a joint undertakin­g by the AFAD and PNP whose aim is the swift processing of gun documents.

Applicants for License to Own and Possess Firearms, gun registrati­on and Permit to Carry Firearms Outside of Residence are advised to visit the Defense & Sporting Arms Show Facebook page for the list of requiremen­ts and details on the PNP Firearms online registrati­on system.

Prospectiv­e gun show visitors may register online at www. afad. ph/ dsas to avoid queuing at the entrance of the venue.
