MMDA conducts road safety seminar for PCSO drivers
A TWO-DAY education seminar for PCSO drivers was arranged by the Human Resource Division in collaboration with the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on September 28 and 29 at the Del Pilar Function Room of Legend Villas, Mandaluyong City.
Substantial topics were discussed by different speakers from
- ing issues such as:
1) Road safety and enforcement systems in Metro Manila, which consists of subtopics:
-- How the road safe system works (people, vehicle and road/roadside) -- MMDA vs LGU citation tickets -- MMDA to LTO connectivity -- Metro road rules and enforcement system
2) Rules of the road which tackles traffic rules ( RA 4136) and violations relative to land transportation.
3) Safety driving techniques and practices.
4) Dangers of road rage.
It was clearly pointed out that the driver’s responsibilities, as well as the danger he faces, begin the moment he turns on the key. Each participant was made aware of the correlation of three important points: taking care of his vehicle, taking care of himself and most of all, the safety of his passengers and fellow travelers on the road.
MMDA Traffic Discipline
from Tacloban, Leyte captivated the hearts of the participants for his humorous approach but was on point on road rage consequences and its sanctions.
On the second day, speakers from MMDA discussed topics on property damage, vehicular damage, people damage and the step-by-step procedures involved with situations thereof.
An examination followed to check on how far the drivers understood traffic rules, their responsibilities as safe drivers,
when behind the wheels and the sanctions involved in losses and damages to life and property.
Overall, the participants where very appreciative of the seminar.
