Dula smashes records in 148th PSL National Series
MASVILLE Elementary School-Parañaque standout Marc Bryan Dula broke three records in the boys’ 11-year division in the opening day of the 148th Philippine Swimming League (PSL) National Series - MX3 DPS Swim Challenge on Saturday at the Diliman Preparatory School (DPS) swimming pool in Quezon City.
Dula, fresh from a successful campaign in the 2018 Tokyo Invitational Swimming Championship in Japan, clocked 2:33.94 in the 200m individual medley, surpassing the 2:40.75 old mark he established in July.
Dula also made new records in the 100m butterfly (1:09.16) and 100m breaststroke (1:10.72) events of the tournament supported by The Manila Times, MX3 and DMI Medical Supplies Company.
“He improved a lot in just a span of almost three months. The international exposure given these young swimmers is a huge factor in their improvement and I am happy that our program is working,” said PSL president Susan Papa.
DPS tankers Jenn Sermonia (girls’ 10-year 200m IM), Xavier Salinel (boys’ 10-year 200m IM), Paula Carmela Cusing (girls’ 15- over 200m IM) and Albert Sermonia 2nd (boys’ 13-year 200m IM) ruled their respective events.
The other gold medal winners were Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh (girls’ 12-year 100m backstroke), Julia Basa (girls’ 11-year 100m backstroke), Asael Aman (boys’ 8-year 50m freestyle), Behrouz Mojdeh (boys’ 7-year 50m freestyle), Jasmine Del Moro (girls’ 13-year 200m IM), Jules Mirandilla (boys’ 15-over 100m butterfly), Aidepp De Luna (girls’ 10-year 50m backstroke), Marc Ibarrola (boys’ 14-year 100m butterfly), Agustin Mendoza (boys’ 9-year 50m backstroke), Abram Arabes (boys’ 8-year 50m backstroke), Bella Fano, Alyssa Cabatian, Seb Rafael Santos, Geric Beredo, Erin Carbo, Raphaelle Musico. Angel Quidasol, Danae Sarmiento, Elijah Peng, Daniel Santos, Hugh Antonio Parto, Antonio Catangay, Rigel Hechanova, Adara Mariano, Quinn Tan Guat, Alex Cuevas and Aika Morikawa.
