Volkswagen PH turns over Santana subcompact sedans to Diamond Rent-a-Car

VOLKSWAGEN AG Philippine­s hili i recently l turned d over 11 units of the Santana subcompact sedan to Diamond Rent-a-Car (DRAC), the country’s pioneering and largest car rental company in terms of revenues.

The Santana

Multi-Point Injection (MPI) 4-cylinder gasoline engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmissi­on, with maximum power output of 90 PS at 5,500 rpm and maximum torque of 132 Nm at 3,800 rpm. For ride comfort and stability, the Santana features electronic power steering, front McPherson independen­t suspension and rear composite torsion beam semi-independen­t suspension. Safety highlights include ISOFIX anchorage h points, i anti-lock i l kb braking ki system (ABS) (A S) and d immobilize­r. The Santana with manual transmissi­on retails for only P686,000.

DRAC stands to enjoy a worry-free maintenanc­e experience with the Santana as the warranty coverage is comprehens­ive. Aside from the three years or 100,000-kilometer general warranty, whichever comes first, Volkswagen Philippine­s also offers a 3- year warranty for paint and another 3-year warranty for through-corrosion of the main steel body structure.

The periodic maintenanc­e service (PMS) interval schedule is also structured for DRAC’s convenienc­e. The PMS interval is once a year, or every 10,000 kms,

5,000-km PMS interval, and thus lessens the downtime for each Santana unit, and increases its productive time being in clients’ use.
