Nagpal, Diokno shine in 2018 JGFP Interschool Golf Championship
BHUVAS Nagpal and Santino Diokno snared the individual overall championship plum in their respective divisions in the 2018 JGFP Interschool Golf Championship held on October 21 in two courses.
Nagpal, a fifth grader from British School Manila ( BSM), ruled the Middle School Division (Grade 4 to 6) with a 216 aggregate built on rounds of 51-54-56, and
- links Golf Club in Las Piñas City.
Sixth grader Jaime Alabastro of round tournament with a 190-total to clinch the boy’s championship crown.
Finishing second and third with 186 and 181, respectively, were De La Salle Zobel’s Rafael Leonio and Philippine Christian School of Tomorrow’s Zachary Villaroman.
In the girls’ division, Celine Abalos of Poveda posted 193 to edge Gabie Rosca of Meridian International Learning Experience by two strokes, 191, and Reese Ng of BSM by three, 190.
Nagpal and Ng, meanwhile powered BSM team’s victory with a 576 total (119, 145, 152, 160). They were supported by Armand Copok, Andre Anggala, and Manolo Reyes.

Diokno, a grade nine student from Reedley International School, posted 192 to claim the overall title in the Junior High Division (Grade 7 to 9).
Ateneo’s Miguel Roque topped the boy’s division with 188, one stroke ahead of Stonyhurst Southville International’s Rho Hyun Ho (187), and eight strokes off BSM’s Sean Young (180).
Girls’ Junior High champion Burberry Zhang of Brent International School carded 190 to cruise to a 36-point victory over Calvert Home School’s Jody Castillo with 154. Annika Chua of Makati Hope Christian
Ateneo De Manila Junior High led by Roque, Miguel Baquiran, Jose Leonid Rico, and Tyler Zamuco, dominated the team event with 501 points on rounds of 117, 132, 129, and 123.
with 459 and BSM third with 428. Commonwealth Foods Inc, Oishi,
- ers, Snack Pack, Ceres, and Golf Medal Food backed the tournament.
The awarding ceremony was held at the Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club in Cavite.
