Archers target a repeat win vs Tigers
DE La Salle University eyes a repeat win against its former coach Aldin Ayo and University of Sto. Tomas (UST) to boost its
Final Four bid in Season 81 University Athletic Association of the Philippines ( UAAP) men’s basketball today at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.
A second victory by the No. 3 Green Archers (6-4) against Ayo and the No. 4 Growling Tigers (5-5) at 2 p.m. will push them away from the cramped middle of the standings.

“For me, my treatment is still the same. I will push my team to win or at least for them to compete,” said Gonzales.
Gonzales is hoping that his wards can sustain their winning momentum until they secured one of the
La Salle is coming off a 65- 57 triumph over Far Eastern University.
“We need more wins to secure a Final Four appearance. I keep on reminding the players to remain focused and always play with intensity,” he said.
Team veterans Justine Baltazar, Santi Santillan, Kib Montalbo and Aljun Melecio are all expected to deliver the goods for the Archers today.
Like Gonzales, Ayo’s sole focus is on steering UST back to the Final Four after a two-season absence.
“What’s important here is the competition, not the teams or people involved,” said Ayo. “We’re just going to do and play our best for our alma mater.”
Behind captain Marvin Lee’s career 30-point game and rookie CJ Cansino’s historic 20-point, 14-rebound, 10- assist triple- double, the Tigers roared to a 79-68 rout of also-ran University of the East on Sunday.
