3 teams dispute last PVL semis slot

-

COMES now the feisty chase for the fourth and last semifinal berth as PetroGazz, Pocari-Air Force and Tacloban brace for the challenging final week of the double round elims of the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Open Conference.

Though the Angels have the inside track to the coveted slot owing to their 6-5 slate, the 5-7 Lady Warriors and the Fighting Warays go flat out to sweep their remaining matches and hope the fourth-running PetroGazz side won’t go over seven wins to force a playoff.

PetroGazz has three games left in its sked, two against semifinalists Ateneo and Creamline and the other versus Adamson-Akari while Pocari has two light assignments in Adamson and Iriga-Navy, both ousted teams.

Tacloban, on the other hand, has Adamson and BanKo-Perlas as its last two opponents, making the last four elims playdates worth watching.

The Warays and the Angels try to fuel their respective drives with victories against the Lady Falcons and the Lady Eagles, respectively, tomorrow with Creamline and BanKo-Perlas priming up for the semis in another league out-of-sortie offering in Cagayan De Oro.

Pocari, meanwhile, tries to stay in the hunt against Iriga on Sunday with the Angels expected to get past the Lady Falcons in the other contest.

Ateneo (10-3), Creamline (9-2) and BanKo-Perlas (9-3) have secured the first three semis seats but all three are still expected to go for victories to bring that winning feeling to the Final Four.
